Self-Examination
Written by Masi Alessandro

The level to which we take ourselves seriously is ironically dependent on how serious we are. We need to believe important things about ourselves:

Self-Examination *Do we believe in ourself?

*Do we believe in our judgement?

*Do we believe we deserve what we wish for?

*Do we believe that our 'significant others' will agree with us and our decisions.

*If it came to it, could we disagree with them [ depending on our own self-confidence to proceed and forgiving their difference of opinion ]; or decide that their life-path diverges too much from our's and find the courage to say 'good-bye'?

*Is it better to live with a lie we barely believe, rather than rock the boat or

*Is it better to risk losing the safety of routine to free ourself to experience not only the wider horizon 'out there' and the corresponding wider 'inner horizon' for the price of narrowing our 'safety net' and suffering more intense pain if we're wrong?

*Do we love ourselves more if we stand by our 'significant others'' mistakes just to keep them around? or

*Do we respect ourselves less in the process by preferring our needs to the 'other's' because we secretly know that by empowering them to believe in themselves more, that we might not agree with their 'newly confident' decisions - which might, in fact, take them away from us?

*At what moment in our dithering about soul-searching and trying different life choices which inevitably include keeping the excitement of new possibilties high and the risk of loss and emotional pain to a minimum - at what moment do we finally realise there are no guarantees - that risk is called 'risk' precisely because that is what it is.?

*At what moment do we realise that 'it' was never about the destination - but always about the experience of the journey???

...and then finally breath a sigh of relief!?

...and realise that the 'bus stop' we were chasing, was following us all along???

We'll talk more...
